Privacy Policy
Protecting your data matters to us. Simhop is deliberately built to collect as little as possible: the website consists of static pages, uses no analytics or tracking tools, sets no tracking or advertising cookies and loads no third-party content (no external fonts, no social media plugins, no embedded videos or maps). The only things stored on your device are a language preference and, in the app, your recently viewed destinations (see section 4). Below we explain which data is processed nonetheless.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
[VORNAME NACHNAME]
[STRASSE HAUSNUMMER]
[PLZ] [ORT]
Germany
Email: kontakt@simhop.info
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the host pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The host processes the data listed below solely on our behalf and according to our instructions.
3. Server log files
Each time a page is requested, your browser automatically sends information to the server, which is stored in server log files. This includes:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file requested
- amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
- referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- browser type, operating system and browser version
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure secure and stable operation, for example to fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. The data is not combined with other data sources. The host stores log files only for a limited period and then deletes or anonymizes them, unless longer retention is necessary to investigate a specific security incident.
4. No tracking; language cookie and local storage
We do not use web analytics (for example, no Google Analytics), advertising tracking or profiling. We only store information on your device where it is strictly necessary for a function you use:
- Language cookie "lang": when you choose a language with the language switcher, we set a cookie named lang containing only the language code (for example "en"). It lets the start page and the app send you to your preferred language on your next visit; our server reads it for this purpose only. The cookie is valid for one year and contains no identifier.
- Local storage "simhop.lang": the same language choice is also saved in your browser's local storage for the same purpose.
- Local storage "simhop.recent": in the app, the last destinations you viewed (up to eight entries with name and slug) are saved in your browser's local storage so they can be shown to you as "recently viewed". This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
- Offline cache: to make the app work offline, your browser saves pages and files from this website in its cache via a service worker. This data also stays on your device.
This storage is strictly necessary to provide functions you have explicitly requested, so no consent is required (Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG). Any processing of personal data in this context is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is providing a user-friendly website. You can delete the cookie, local storage and cache at any time in your browser settings. A cookie banner is not required. Fonts, icons and flags are served directly from our own server.
5. Affiliate links and redirects
Many links to eSIM providers are affiliate links. When you click such a link, you are first redirected via an address on our own server (for example /go/…) to the provider. For billing and analysis of which offers are clicked how often, we log only the following:
- date and time of the click
- the offer clicked or the target provider
- the path of the page on Simhop where you clicked (without parameters)
Your IP address is not stored in this log, no cookies are set and no data is passed on to third parties. This data cannot be linked to you personally. To the extent that personal data should nevertheless be processed, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is analyzing and billing our partner programs. Click data is deleted after 24 months at the latest. Independently of this, the server log files described above are created for the redirect, as for every page request.
After the redirect, you are on the website of the respective eSIM provider or an affiliate network (for example Impact, Awin or CJ). These usually set their own cookies or use similar technologies to record that you came from our site and to attribute a commission to us. The providers and networks are responsible for this processing themselves. You will find information in their privacy policies, where you can also manage your cookie settings.
6. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract. We delete the data once your inquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Emails are sent and received via our host's servers in Germany.
7. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by "https://" in your browser's address bar.
8. Your rights
Within the scope of the applicable law, you have the right at any time to:
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
Right to object: where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Simply email us at kontakt@simhop.info. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
9. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies. If we plan new features such as user reviews or comments, we will explain the related data processing here in advance.
