Transparency: How We Make Money
Simhop is free for you to use. To keep it that way and to maintain our comparison, we earn money through affiliate links. Here we explain openly how that works and what it means for you.
What are affiliate links?
Many links to eSIM providers on our website are affiliate links. If you follow one of these links to a provider and buy an eSIM there, the provider pays us a commission. This costs you nothing extra: you pay the same price as if you went to the provider's website directly. Sometimes our links even get you exclusive discounts.
You can recognize affiliate links by the "Ad" or "Affiliate link" label near the offers and by the notice in the footer of every page. Technically, they go through a redirect address on our server (/go/…). What is stored in the process is explained in our Privacy Policy.
How are plans ranked and providers rated?
The order of plans on our destination pages is based on objective criteria that you can filter yourself: primarily price, followed by data allowance, validity and price per gigabyte. The amount of any commission has no influence on the order or on how a provider is rated. We only compare providers we have a partnership with; our comparison does not cover the entire market.
Our provider assessments are based on plans, features and publicly available user reviews. We do not run our own lab tests and do not award test seals. When we recommend something, we explain why.
Our editorial rating (0 to 5 stars) is made up of: value for money of the plans in our comparison, number of destinations covered, features (hotspot, top-ups, unlimited plans, app), payment methods and publicly available user reviews, for example on Trustpilot. It is an assessment, not a test.
Prices can change
eSIM providers change their prices often, due to promotions, currency fluctuations or new plans. We update our data regularly and show when prices were last updated with every comparison. Even so, discrepancies can occur. The prices and terms on the provider's website at the time of your purchase are always binding. All prices are shown in euros (EUR) including VAT unless stated otherwise; if you pay in another currency, the amount charged depends on the provider's conversion and your bank.
What we do not do
- We do not sell eSIMs ourselves; your contract is always directly with the provider.
- We do not sell placements or "bought" top rankings.
- We do not use tracking cookies or ad networks on our website.
- We do not publish fake reviews.
