Hong Kong travel platform selling its own very cheap eSIMs on named networks, mainly for Asia and the USA.

4.1/5Editorial rating · How we rateTrustpilot 4.5/5 · 29,649 reviews*

Pros

  • Very cheap day plans from under €1 in Asia and the USA
  • Names the networks used (e.g. SoftBank, SKT, China Unicom, Verizon)
  • Large, established travel platform with many user reviews

Cons

  • Focus on Asia, smaller choice elsewhere
  • Plans are sold as individual travel products per country, less clear than an eSIM app
  • Adding data usually means buying a new plan rather than a classic top-up

Klook is a Hong Kong travel platform founded in 2014. It mainly sells tickets, tours and transfers, and also its own eSIMs for more than 50 countries. The focus is clearly on Asia, with the USA among the other destinations. Two things stand out: very low starting prices, and Klook names the mobile networks it uses. Our assessment is based on publicly listed plans, product details and user reviews, not on our own hands-on testing.

Plans & pricing

Klook sells eSIMs as individual travel products per country, each valid for 1 to 30 days. In November 2026 the listed starting prices are about €0.95 for Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Indonesia, about €1.15 for South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and about €0.69 for the USA. These are "from" prices for the smallest day option; bigger packages cost more. Many countries also have unlimited plans which, according to the product details, slow down after 10 to 15 GB per day.

For Asia this puts Klook among the cheapest options available, in the same price range as other travel platforms. Because packages are split finely by day or data amount, compare them with classic eSIM providers on our destination pages.

Networks & coverage

Klook is open about its networks: for example SoftBank or IIJ (Docomo) in Japan, SKT in South Korea, AIS in Thailand, Viettel in Vietnam, China Unicom in China, Telkomsel in Indonesia and Verizon in the USA. In China, travel eSIMs like these usually route traffic through gateways abroad, so many Western services keep working. Check the product description before you buy. Outside Asia the choice is smaller than with dedicated eSIM providers.

Buying & setup

You buy through the Klook website or app and pay by credit card or common wallets. The eSIM arrives as a QR code or voucher and is installed in your phone's settings. Plans are data-only without a phone number, and hotspot use is allowed according to the product details. To get more data you usually buy a new package rather than a classic top-up. Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked. Our guide What is an eSIM? explains the basics.

Customer service & reviews

Klook has about 4.5 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot from tens of thousands of reviews. Those cover the whole platform, not just eSIMs. The eSIM products themselves have thousands of mostly positive reviews on Klook. Complaints mention slow refunds and activation problems in some cases, as with other providers.

Who is it for?

Klook suits budget-minded travellers heading to Asia or the USA who want a cheap package on a well-known network. If you visit many countries, want an app with balance management and top-ups, or travel mostly outside Asia, a classic eSIM provider is often the better fit.

Our verdict

For Asia and the USA, Klook offers some of the cheapest travel eSIMs and names the networks it uses. The choice outside Asia is smaller, and adding data is less convenient than with dedicated eSIM apps. For short trips to Asia, Klook is worth a price check.
